The Dubai Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation has received a contribution of AED 1 million from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai to support the Sanad Waqf initiative, which aims to provide sustainable food assistance to families benefiting from Community Development Authority services and registered on the JOOD platform.
The contribution will support the issuance of Sanad food cards, helping vulnerable groups including orphans, widows, senior citizens, People of Determination, and low-income families meet their essential needs.
H.E. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of JOOD and Director General of the Community Development Authority, praised the contribution, noting that it reflects the values of social solidarity and reinforces the culture of giving that defines the UAE.
H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, said the contribution reflects the department’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening community cohesion, emphasizing the role of humanitarian initiatives in improving quality of life and fostering social responsibility.
