Definitions

JOOD: means Dubai Community Contributions Establishment (Jood), a government entity duly registered and licensed in accordance with the laws in force in the United Arab Emirates pursuant to Amiri Decree No. (3), with its registered office located in Al Barsha, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Site: means the official website operated by Dubai Community Contributions Establishment (Jood), including all webpages, subdomains, mobile versions, applications, and any related digital platforms through which the Organization provides information, services, or donation functionality. https://jood.ae

Content: means all materials and information available on or through the Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, photographs, videos, audio clips, software, design elements, data, reports, downloadable materials, and any other content published, displayed, or made available on the Site.

Contributor: means any individual or legal entity that makes a voluntary financial contribution to the Organization through the Website or any other authorized channel.

Contribution: means any donation, grant, gift, or provision of funds, goods, services, or other support made by the Contributor to JOOD.

Campaign: means any fundraising initiative, appeal, project, programme, or activity established, approved, and published by JOOD for the purpose of soliciting and collecting Contributions for one or more specified charitable, humanitarian, developmental, social, public benefit, or corporate social responsibility purposes. A Campaign shall specify, as applicable, its purpose, collection method, Campaign period, authorised collectors, collection locations, recipient entity, target amount, and any other terms or conditions approved by JOOD.

Campaign Owner: means the individual or legal entity approved by JOOD to establish, manage, and conduct a Campaign through the Site for the benefit of itself or an approved recipient entity. The Campaign Owner shall be solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of all information relating to the Campaign, the proper use of Contributions received, compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and the fulfilment of the Campaign purpose.

You and Your: mean any individual or legal entity that accesses, browses, registers with, or uses the Site.

Scope

This is the Community Contribution Platform (“JOOD”).

Acceptance of Terms

By using the electronic payment service provided through the Jood Platform (the “Site”), you agree to accept the Terms of Use set out below, as well as United Arab Emirates laws.

By accessing, browsing, and using the Site, you accept, without limitation or qualification, these Terms of Use. JOOD maintains the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Any modification is effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Site signifies your acceptance of such modifications.

Compensation

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JOOD, its business partners, employees, and subsidiaries from any liability, loss, claim, or expenses related to your breach of these Terms of Use or your use of the Site services.

JOOD Name and Emblem

The JOOD name and emblem are the exclusive property of JOOD and are protected under United Arab Emirates law. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

All Content on the Site, including text, logos, graphics, images, and software, is owned by JOOD or its respective owners and is protected by applicable laws. Users may not copy or edit any of this information without explicit consent.

Credit/Debit/Charge Card Information

If you use the electronic payment portal, you confirm that you are the lawful cardholder or have obtained authorization from the cardholder.

JOOD is committed to ensuring secure transactions. Payment details are protected using industry-standard encryption technologies. JOOD does not store credit card details, unless we have obtained the Contributor and/or the Campaign Owner explicit consent. JOOD also ensures not to disclose Contributor and/or the Campaign Owner personal or payment information to third parties, except as required for the purpose of processing payments or as required by applicable law. All credit card transactions conducted through the Site are secured using industry standard encryption technologies and security protocols designed to protect payment information and ensure transaction integrity.

Campaign Approval

All Campaigns that are hosted on the Site are subject to JOOD's prior review and written approval. JOOD reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to approve, reject, suspend, amend, remove, or terminate any Campaign at any time. JOOD may require the Campaign Owner to provide additional information or amend any aspect of a Campaign before approving or continuing to publish it. JOOD may review, among other matters, the Campaign purpose, collection method, Campaign period, authorised collectors, collection locations, recipient entity, target amount, and any other information it considers necessary to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and JOOD's policies. Any material amendment to an approved Campaign requires JOOD's prior written approval.

Custody and Transfer of Contributions

Unless otherwise approved by JOOD in writing, all Contributions shall remain in JOOD's custody until the Campaign reaches its approved target amount or the approved Campaign period expires, whichever occurs first. Following completion of JOOD's verification, reconciliation, compliance review, and internal approval procedures, JOOD may transfer the net Contributions to the approved Campaign Owner or recipient entity in accordance with applicable laws and JOOD's procedures.

JOOD may withhold, delay, suspend, or refuse any transfer where it reasonably considers this necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing obligations, court or governmental orders, or these Terms.

Limitation of JOOD's Responsibility

Upon transferring the Contributions in accordance with these Terms and JOOD’s contribution policy, JOOD shall be deemed to have fully discharged its obligations in respect of those Contributions and shall have no responsibility or liability for their receipt, custody, management, distribution, or use by the Campaign Owner, recipient entity, beneficiary, or any third party.

The Campaign Owner is solely responsible for ensuring that the Contributions are used exclusively for the approved Campaign purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws and approvals, and shall indemnify and hold JOOD harmless against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from the Campaign Owner's use or administration of the Contributions.

Refunds

If a Contributor wishes to cancel a donation or believes a donation was made in error, they may request a refund within 48 hours of the transaction.

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method. Processing time depends on the relevant bank or payment provider.

Payment Methods

We accept Visa and MasterCard. All transactions are processed in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham).

Applicable Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and applicable Dubai laws.
